The first port of call for everything ever produced for the Acorn Electron

If you've ever done any website programming, you'll know that there are two ways of designing a web site. The first way, and the way recommended by any textbook worth its salt, is to sit down and plan out every section and how every file should be stored for easy recollection in any page. The second way is to start your web site and order it as you go along. This second way is the one by which Acorn Electron World has evolved.

Many of the BBC PD collections of software (not now available elsewhere) are Elk-compatible!

We tracked down the Superior/Acornsoft games that never made it. Fancy a look?

Every page of every issue of Electron User cross-referenced, scanned and archived!

Originally this site was nothing more than several reviews of games taken from the pages of the EUG (Electron User Group) magazine. Then, over the years that followed, and as emulation became more prevalent and we learned more about web design, disc images followed. Then we moved onto documenting instructions, providing reviews from the Electron User magazine, adding catalogues and boxart, scanning books, taking photos of hardware issued for the Acorn Electron, collecting all the Public Domain games released for the Electron...and on and on the web site grows. It is now at the stage where those original EUG reviews account for less than 1% of the original content!

The fan-based EUG magazine is no more but a new compilation of stuff does appear each year!

We've tracked down a lot of the hints, tips and solutions that Impact Software dished out!

We also exclusively carry the HCW scans - and companion programs

As webmasters, we have put years of our lives into building this site and our intention is that it should become a virtual museum which features everything ever manufactured for the Acorn Electron. However, as the site develops, we have noticed areas in its 'hidden depths' may be missed, especially by new users who believe it is simply a disc image download website.

Next Stop: Navigating The Site
Just as there is a lot more to this site than at first meets the eye, there is always stuff 'in the pipeline'.
