Navigating The Site
Acorn Electron World Logo
The first port of call for everything ever produced for the Acorn Electron

This web site is designed to be very user-friendly and, unless you are almost completely new to using the internet, you should have absolutely no trouble in getting around it.

The pages are divided into logical sections, a 'Navigation Bar' on the left of each page showing you whereabouts on the site you currently are. To visit a different section of the web site, click on one of the 'tabs' in that bar.

For example, click this tab:
FAQ Tab

to visit the Frequently Asked Questions section of the site.

When you click a 'tab', you will either be presented with a web page in the main area of your browser or the 'Navigation Bar' will change to a number of further links.

For example, click this tab:
Disc Archives Tab

to visit the Disc Archives section of the site. You will see that the 'Navigation Bar' changes to a number of different logos, namely:

Discs: Haven Discs Discs: Non UK Discs Discs: Public Domain

You'll also notice that at the very top of the 'Navigation Bar', a small arrow (Up One Level) appears. By clicking on this arrow, you will return to the previous list of tabs. When the arrow disappears, you are at the 'Top Level' of the site.

All information is currently stored in a format similar to the one below. If you click this image, you will be taken to the entry for EXILE in the catalogues so that you can play around.

Anything that was professionally released will be displayed in this format. You can browse through the catalogues of almost every software publisher for the Electron. On the left of each table is the original cover art. Some (more recent) acquisitions also have a high quality scan of the cover art available (which is available if you click the cover art itself).

If the header appears as a link, it means the instructions originally supplied with the game are available in html (web page) format. Click on the heading to display full instructions. These instructions also include screenshots of the game.

Occasionally, the table will start with a 'Game Alias:' row. Some games are known by slightly different names. For example, games by Adventure International are also known as SCOTT-ADAMS ADVENTURE NUMBER xx.

As you can see by referring to the image above, the type of game and the author(s) (if known) are given, as well as useful information regarding when the game was initially released, how much it sold for, what systems the disc version of the game works on, and whether the game also works on the ELECTRON GOMMC interface. Often there will be an ADFS 1D00 and a DFS disc image available for download. See the FAQ section if you are unsure as to which disc system you are using.
