I continue to upgrade and have now fitted my Electron etc, into a SLOGGER RX and must say it is a boon not having all the odds and ends spread about the desk, and the AP2 giving me additional ROMs without cartridges.

It was not until converting to SLOGGER RX that I realised that I could drive both double-sided disk drives off one transformer and that the 3.5" only needed a 5volt supply (This was after building a 12 and 5volt regulator board).

You will recall that I wrote in April stating I had purchased an Electron for £3. I have now bought one for £1 (again at a Car Boot Fair) and it works perfectly. However, the machine is labelled with the word "Merlin" and inside it are two small PCBs. I would like to know whether any EUG readers know the purpose of these additional boards. One is above the ULA and the other at the end of the keyboard connector. [They are likely to be necessary to interface with the MERLIN expansion this particular machine should be attached to! - Will]

I also have a SOLIDISK INTERFACE which has a Hard Disk connector and I am seeking information as to the type and size of Hard Disk the Electron will run. Again, can anyone out there help please?

Perhaps the best people to ask about connecting a hard drive to an Elk via a Solidisk interface would be the members of the Solinet User Group. Please see the info elsewhere this issue.

I wonder if this MERLIN thingy has anything to do with the Interflora machine mentioned by Chris Chadwick in SAY IT WITH AN ELK?
