I have both an Electron and an Amiga 600. Just lately I have been doing some letters and my Homewatch leaflets (I am the Homewatch Co-ordinator for my half of the road; my road is like a letter C on its back) and combining terrific fonts and clip art on his PC computer's word processor. I will never forsake my Electron but love to try out new things.
I tend to do half a dozen things at once. I love my cable TV as I don't go out a lot (Can't afford it!). I have two VHS machines and did have a Betamax but it's not working at the moment. I now have four that don't work, three here and one at my son's in Sheffield. As they don't make or sell them any more, the parts are expensive and it's not worth having them repaired. But I am in the middle of transferring my Betamax tapes to VHS. I had over 150 but am down to about eighty now.
About three weeks ago, my son from Sheffield brought his Betamax home and left it for a week with me so I spent at least twenty hours a day for eight days transferring. I have such a lot of tapes because I have been an Elvis fan for 38 years. I have all his films plus other things. I also like Clint Eastwood so I have most of his, plus I love Action Movies and lots of documentaries and concerts.
Besides all this, I do crosswords, read, knit, go on all three computers, play my music ... all that is after the housework and garden is is done. I am also a cat lover and have two right now. In all I have had eight since about 1964. They usually die from old age but the first ran off because of a fire, the next two were very timid sisters and they too ran off, the next disappeared when he was ten: he was an undoctored tom and maybe he had his last fight.
My last, and I have to admit my best, cat of all was nearly 21. He was disabled, had a balance problem, some fault in his brain and died nearly a year and a half ago of renal failure. My two sons and myself were heartbroken. He was special - very loving and comical because he couldn't climb or jump but he had a happy life. We miss him. The two I have now are eight years old and one year four months old. Both are female and the young one comes home with wounds on her face and ears as she fights. Actually, she is rather wild compared to all the others but she can also be very affectionate.
We have had our Homewatch scheme for over a year now and things do seem a lot better. When we started, there were so many burglaries on my Council estate that you were afraid to go out. I keep reminding residents of all the safety things to do. The one I delivered yesterday was about open windows topically due to the hot weather.
I wrote before that I love board games; I guess because, when my sons were younger, we played a lot. Although we still have some now, they are never played. I have a version of SCRABBLE for the BBC but there are no graphics or colour. But it's playable! I have many card games, some typed in. I have a CANASTA game but it's only numbers and letters, not actual cards. Also, several Domino games and several Patience games. The trouble is when I do on them, I am there for hours.
I hope this has not been boring for you. When I write I tend to get to get carried away. I am sending in articles to Gus with solutions, hints, passwords and cheats. I do have maps but I guess they would need to be scanned...
