For the complete obsessive, this part of Hardware Land features some limited information on the dust covers that were available for the Acorn Electron.
The most popular dust cover, or so we assume, would be the Electron User variant that was available from Database Publications (later Europress) by mail order, pictured on the right.
On the left is the more 'usual' type of dust cover for the BBC series machines. This one was picked up on eBay in 2001 (for only a few pence!), still in its original packaging. Fairly evidently, this is what is called a soft dust cover and this one is produced by Bud Computers. It is a clear plastic film which is stretched around the Acorn Electron keyboard when it is not in use.
On the other hand, the pictures below show the TEKFORM QUALITY PRODUCTS hard dust cover produced in 1983. It is a creme-coloured 34.5cm x 16cm x 2.5cm sturdy plastic mould which fits snugly over the Electron keyboard, the underside rising and falling in line with the keyboard's dimensions.
The TEKFORM HARD CASE DUST COVER was originally advertised in the small ads of Electron User 2.01 in 1985.
