A&B Computing was aimed at the Acorn and BBC computer owner and the first issue was published in May 1983, several months before Acorn's official release of the Acorn Electron.
Although one imagines the magazine was extremely popular in its heyday, copies of it are now extremely difficult to come by. The situation is even worse regarding the discs of software one could order from its pages.
EUG reviewed an issue 3.01 of
A&B Computing in EUG #61, and made some quite controversial points about A&B's philosophy, and this
review is well worth reading if you are interested in knowing more about this magazine. Dave E also produced unofficial companion discs of all of the programs from each issue of the magazine, which can be downloaded from the
A&B section of PD World.
In 2010, we scanned the entire archive of A&B Computing magazines and produced a collection of
DVDs featuring each issue and its associated companion disc. This site currently also features thumbnail images of each page. A&B finally dumped the Acorn Electron at Vol. 7 No. 3, although the magazine itself continued for several years afterward.
