Your Computer was a multi-format computer magazine catering for all the different 8-bit computers of the era. Its type-in programs (also across all formats) were considerably superior to those of its rivals. For example, it frequently published full machine code arcade games.
The
World of Spectrum has hosted some of the
Your Computer magazines for several years, but unfortunately only at a resolution that did not allow for copying of the games within it. Over the past few years we have managed to source our own copies of most issues of the magazine and scan these at a higher resolution. However, we have not yet managed to find
every issue - one magazine remains missing in its entirety (4.08 (August 1984)) and the issues bordered in
cyan below still elude us and therefore are presented here as a direct copy of the
World of Spectrum versions. (This has only been done rather than making all of you wait possibly years for us to again 'find' issues which have already been found!)
The
Your Computer DVDs
do contain all of the issues from the first six volumes apart from 4.08. However, at the current moment we are searching for scans of: 3.01 (January 1984), 3.07 (July 1984 - 10 pages missing from current scan), 4.08 (August 1984), 5.05 (May 1986), 5.07 (July 1986), 5.08 (August 1986), 5.10 (October 1986), 5.12 (December 1986), 6.04 (April 1986), 6.06 (June 1986), 6.07 (July 1986), 6.09 (September 1986), 6.10 (October 1986) and 6.12 (December 1986), so we can similarly make available higher quality scans of these (on future versions of the DVDs).
If you have kept these issues, please consider donating them for the cause and contact us
here.
