Spycat is a very large arcade adventure based on one of the most amusing ideas we've seen for a while.
You play the role of Peter 'Gimme My Pension' Correct (not Peter Wrong as we said last issue) and your plan is to emigrate to Greenland to write your memoirs.
The game is obviously a spoof of the book Spy Catcher and is done very well indeed. The locations interlink to create a 3D layout which requires extra thought to work out and the puzzles are very good, generally logical and quite tricky. Graphically the game is excellent and the icon control system is well-implemented to reduce the number of keys required.
Animation is very smooth with some nice touches including Spycat opening his coat and revealing his stripy boxer shorts.
There are a lot of interesting gadgets to find and use, and closed circuit TV cameras watching your every move.
Overall this is a very good game which has an appeal which I think will reach everyone. Dylan has clearly put in a lot of work and shows great promise as a designer and programmer.
