It's amazing how time flies and it's amazing how much I've forgotten
about putting together the EUG discs. But one thing is for sure - after
a break of over a year, EUG is back. And in no half measure - we're
picking up precisely where we left off!
Oh yes! EUG is back. Catch up quickly with a year's worth of news plus this quick textual glance through the contents of the latest disc. And the ideal opportunity to refresh your memories regarding how to use the Configuration Menu. Again.
"My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why, got out of bed at all..." Dido and Eminem on top form in this BBC STAN Music Demo by Chris Dewhurst. Only suitable, of course, for the BBC machines. Full documentation.
COUNTY QUIZ (BBC B, B+, Master 128 and Electron)
Know your counties and their flags? Well, you'll never be given a better
chance to learn them than this quiz game, complete with graphics that
many professionally released titles could be proud of. And isn't that
header promoting EUG as well? Blimey, what more could we ask? Complete
with full documentation.
PLIG
(BBC B, B+, Master 128 and Electron)
A simple yet nicely presented puzzle game which requires logical thought
before actual movement. The sprites are cute, the screens are colourful
and there's even a password facility in this, Chris Dewhurst's latest
BBC/Electron conversion of the Archimedes title PLIG. Full
documentation.
EXTRA COLOURS (All series)
How many colours in Mode 2? You'll think twice after you've seen this
one - dithering goes to new levels in Chris Dewhurst's screen rainbow
screen display.
JIGSAW SUPPLEMENT (All series)
Have you gotten tired of playing around with the screens supplied with
EUG #46 and #48? Well, how about copying these two screens to a JIGSAW
disc and putting them back together instead? Yes, that is a Spectrum screen in there too, converted to your machine through the medium of PC emulation... More news about it soon!
PROPORTIONALLY SPACED TEXT (All series)
A little utility that can be incorporated into your own programs and
allow you to print in text proportionally spaced to the number of dots
across each character actually needs. Runs in demonstration mode when
called from the menu.
Dave E casts his eye over Database's little-known disc game
THE MAGIC SWORD
and is pleasantly surprised. However, then he looks at SCREWBALL,
MANIAC MOWER and
THE FOUR WANDS and loses the will to live.
Oops. We missed the last EUG. Oh well, we'll just write to you then. Oh,
there's another EUG? Oh good...
