I was sorry to hear that 8 Bit Software has had to stop publishing its BBC disk-based magazine. It had been going for a long time - 66 issues! - and was one of the mainstays of the 8 bit community. A number of former 8 bit members have joined us in EUG though so I hope you like what we do. It will be a little different from 8BS but your views are always welcome.

It's almost 1999 and the doom merchants are out in force warning us of impending disaster from everything. Can you imagine how many smug faces there will be if come January 2000, a meteor hits the Earth, the sun blacks out, aliens land, computers all stop working and chickens turn carnivorous?

But for the rest of us, life will just have to go on. Because what else can we do?

Keep those submissions coming in.
